My GP said I need to lose weight…BUT HOW?

If you’re in any stage of menopause, from early perimenopause through to official menopause (i.e. haven’t had a bleed for a year) then you will be wonder ‘how the hell do I do that?’ Maybe you’re watching the scales rise despite not a thing changing or even doing a LOT more exercise. Perhaps you’ve tried a few, ok a LOT of different diets that grabbed your attention or your friend, co worker, cousin said one of them worked for them….

BUT you still can’t shift the kilos and your belly is starting to look like you are pregnant. It’s incredibly disheartening. I know. I’ve been there. I speak to woman like you all the time and we’re sick of it. We know we need to lose weight, we know our hormones are an issue, we know our health is suffering but no one seems to be able to tell us how to turn the boat around!

Here’s 5 steps to think about that will help.

1.       Identify the reason. This involves getting honest. Is it your eating habits? Are you drinking a bit more? Is it stress? Are you eating enough? Are you exercising enough or too much? Or is it a health issue? Do you need further investigations done?

2.       Work out the foods and style of eating that suit you. Make a plan and stick to it!

What’s worked for you before? What do you know makes you feel awful? How are your blood sugar levels? Are they driving you to snack on less than fabulous foods?

3.       Create stress resilience! Because stress will raise cortisol and that will prevent you losing weight and maybe even cause you to gain it.

4.       Learn about your hormones because knowledge is power. If you don’t understand how your cycle works then now is the time to get acquainted with it! Find out what they are doing monthly and what they do over your lifetime. If you understand them you can work with them to have a much calmer, more sparkly life.

5.       Find people to support you and create accountability. Once you’ve made a plan rally your friends and family to support you.

And if you’re still confused or still can’t shift the weight- I’ve got you! I know stuff lol!

In all seriousness this is what I do. I help women who are struggling with weight and hormones in perimenopause and menopause. You deserve the support and the love. You deserve to feel a million bucks! And I make it my mission to help you do just that!

What are you waiting for? Reach out, get help! Go tell your GP you found the answer and it wasn’t drugs, surgery, or starvation diets.  But is was as simple as identifying the issue, making a plan, creating stress resilience, learning about your hormones and getting the support you needed!

I truly look forward to meeting you!
